Is this a sequel or not?

What do you call the second book? Is it only a second book, or is it a sequel to the first book you wrote in the first place? I’m not sure anymore. This is my problem at the moment. I’m writing a sequel to my first book, which continues the story. I want it to continue the story where I finished at the end of the first story. I hope the second will continue into a grand story.

I wrote a story about an 8-year-old genius boy who transitioned from elementary school to high school in a matter of minutes. The 8 year old graduated from high school at the age of nine. His parents, particularly his mother, wouldn’t allow him to attend college and return home on weekends. Finally, she gave in. By the time Banjo was ten, he was given a scholarship to a college. She was allowed to attend college and live in dorm rooms. He had to go home on the weekend.

During his time in high school and on his arrival at the college gates, he had collected sticky notes. He and the three friends he had made in high school. They collected several sticky notes. The story was called Sticky Note Mystery. The second one, I was calling the Sticky Note Mystery Quest, continues. Anyone can tell me anything I should change, let us know…
